Junk-a-tron

Junk-a-tron

2013

The biggest junk that prevents us from seizing life, is the junk in our mind.

In September 2013 in the center of Helsinki, they were collecting junk. More than 400 kilograms of junk was collected from people's minds, pockets and off the streets. In particular, the focus was on the junk of our mind, which makes it difficult to think clearly and go forward in life.

This flash mob was made-to-order by Kiasma, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and its School of Activism -project, where contemporary artists were helping young people to influence society through art .

The Junk-a-tron group had high school students from Alppila, Kallio and Itäkeskus.
