Experimental installation at Helsinki Design Week 2019

Meiju Niskala's experimental space and collection, Juhlat jatkukoon – The party continues, is part of the Helsinki Design Week program 6.–15.9.2019.

Juhlat jatkukoon – The party continues is a collection of six sculptures, gestures and actions. The architectural installation and series of events takes place at the main venue of Helsinki Design Week, Erottaja 2. Meiju Niskala created the collection after a year of life-changing events: she lost three family members and suffered a serious disease.

Collection includes a song to the dead, a sketch of the artist's mother drawn by the central police, mouth-blown champagne glasses, and the newly released book Sata kirjettä kuolleelle äidille. The book is Meiju Niskala's debut novel.

Installation architecture is created by Tuuli Sotamaa / Atelje Sotamaa, and graphic design by Jenni Erkintalo.
